Guild of Church Bellringers

St John's, Hensingham is part of the Western Branch of the Carlisle Diocesan Guild of Bellringers.

We ring to call the faithful to worship and to remind others of the church's presence in the community.

Interesting Info
The first complete ring of bells fitted with a set of modern ball bearings was at Hensingham.

The bells of St John's were presented by The Musgrave Family in 1914.

We have been ringing Hand Bells at Hensingham for over four years. We have had a great year once again.

2008 was great fun and a good year for our band. During the year two of our ringers left with their children to do teaching and medical missionary work. We miss them but we had enough ringers for most of our events and St James ringers helped us with one of our visits to care homes.

Once again we are grateful for the loan of a good set of bells for performances.

We will be resuming practices in February 2009. please join us.
